[Omega: Episode 4]

STOP!

Don't do any more work until we can sort this out.

This story is good, the art is good and a lot of work; the animation is relatively basic, but it still takes ages; the sound is good and the voice acting, though not perfect, is pretty good...
... but its begin wasted if it doesn't come together to make the film you are capable of.

Though I want to know the story and see more, I say you do something completely different in the way of animation for a little while- just a short- and practice your skills, things like fbf etc, then drop back into this refreshed and ready to make this series GO!
Study my previous reviews, too. I'm spending time with you because JT Movies is worth it.

Learn more than I know about file size and optimisation. I am no flash expert, but I know that big file sizes can be helped using other programs and techniques.

I read all your comments thanks for the tips and support. I really appreciate it. Pretty much everything you said hit the nail on the head for me. I do hope one day this series gets the big 4.0 but as it stands right now I think I'm getting more than what I diserve. I'm so lazy with it sometimes :p like beta testing and animation wise.
I have been planning to take a very very short break from the series just to get things in order like a certain style, like changing the intro (yeah that green frame by frame is pretty lame I made it a year ago and stuck with it :p) fixing the color crome, adding more buildings, better backgrounds, and different techniques and overall better animation. I'm really glad you like what it is so far, and I hope when the next episodes up everyone feels the same, maybe get an award or two. The more good feedback I get from people the more and more I want to continue the series. Thanks alot. If I need help I'll PM you.

P.S. I have been planning to make an actual pilot episode for this series just a very short animation to explain whats going on in the show whats it about, so maybe that could be a way to practice my skills.

Yes, the Crews are quiet these days, including yours, and obviously ours. This is a nice little advert movie, with great text and suitable music. Its not exactly technical, nor very entertaining to most of us, but as a friend to the other Flash Crews, I hope it inspires you all.

Only thing I would change is to use capitals where apropriate, such as Newgrounds.

[The 5 Shades of Orange]

Orange?

Can't really see the point in restricting the shades to one colour, its doesn't add anything. As usual for collabs of seperates some very basic stuff gets through on the coat tails of good work.

Made me smile a little, some good animation and all good sounds in there. All well put together.

Restricting the colors allows, or rather FORCES, the animator to make different choices than they might otherwise. It's a great exercise to improve things you would never even think about with full color. You have to balance things more, and really look at the whole picture since you are limited. Anyway, glad it made you smile some, because after all that's the whole point of doing amusing animations! Cheers.

Sorry, but if I think that the graphics and animation lets you down, I will say so and score accordingly. Having said that, I quite like the Hammerthrower series and that is scribbly, so its not the end of the world.
Its is hard to follow what is going on some of the time as the voice is hard to hear. its vaguely funny and at least it has a decent length for me to try and get into it, but, no, I was not really at all inspired.
Glad to see some credits at the end, but proper credit in the File Information should be used for music- or at least name the music, don't just tell us it came from the Portal.

Disappointing

Nice start- goes to nothing.

Lovely music, nice birds, sun starts to rise...

then reaches a flat top? as it rises further something spoils the line on the left, then it abruptly ends replaced by what I would call scribble and nonsense. Worse, the lovely music goes on when the rest has stopped.

this lovely music deserves a full, quality video, but this isn't it.

I would like to see smooth quality images, maybe expressing waking up and early morning, sunrise. life setting about its day routine etc.
You have the ability- please do it some time.

this was not a project meant to be stressed over and planned.
This was to relax and just... do whatever I want.
What im saying is that there was not supposed to be a story.

but i will take your review into consideration for future projects.

... its just about good enough art/animation to keep, despite not being anything really. You obviously have great potential and I look forward to seeing proper complete work from you in due course, with sound, colour, length and a plot that shows PERSONALITY, which will make us care about the characters, not just action.

Then you can delete this scrap that doesn't really belong here!

[The Bomb Squad Christmas]

This could be a whole new Flash Crew- the BS

Taz Bomb, Bob Bomb, GaryGrenade bomb, Strawberry Bomb, Pineapple Bomb, Blastmas Day submissions, I see it all!

The sound isn't great, but you can hear it and its funny. The voices are GREAT. and the poem is good too.

This deserves more recognition.

Yeah i plan on making more and the quality will be far more improved now that i have my animations being outputted into .swf's rather than movie type files then being converted into .swf's.
Also preloaders will be eventually added as well.
I found out what my problem was with projects not saving so that now worx too.
I wish i had those animations, i made, saved as projects because then i could have outputted them as .swf's (which would have atleast made the artwork better, and down the road i could have redid the audio on good equipment) and then they would really shine. All it would have took was a computer restart or mess up and then i would've lost any of the animations that I've made.
But sadly there's no way to fix them up other than a total do over whilst trying to stick to the regular awesomeness that made them shine.
Trial & Error all the way....
I'm all about quality and substance.

Its very good

Obviousiy, the animation, art etc is in the top bracket for NG. It has a clear message of warning against our treatment of wild creatures, so the flash has entertainment and purpose. You wrap us up into the quiet story of a wild kitten's everyday life, then jump us into the sad reality of our treatment of wild animals.

There are, however, details of improvement. As has been said, more variety in expression for the kitten would be good. Studying the movement of butterflies a little more- their bodies don't go down as the wings go up quite like that and they have a destintive zigzag/random element to their flight paths to avoid predetors, which is part of what subtly identifies them as butterflies. I felt that a few scenes were a little slow/drawn out- tho I know that is very difficult and a matter of personal taste.
Finally, it is a shame in a work of such effort and quality that the only text isn't better english.

I note that others have queried the conection between making animals into pets and making them extinct. Although the pet trade- killing mothers to get their babies etc. DOES risk extinction, this movie does not make that connection clear. Some kind of More Info button, taking the viewer to a couple of lines of well-written sentances (in 2 languages?) explaining your thoughts and links to one or two most relevent sites would make this movie SO much more significant. If you wish to work on this movie, please PM me and I will discuss it with you in detail and support you- its worth it.

very limited

This is very samey, it has nothing new about it and I am sure it is NOT made by Stigthomas only, I am sure the art is mostly made by others and sprite-animated by you. I have nothing against sprites, but be honest if that is the case.

Very few animations without sound pass judgment. Explore what does and doesn't get through judgment here.
With work, your existing skill could produce good stuff with sound, music, a proper story with personality and and, a Stop/replay and proper credits in the movie.
Continue working.
