A screamer, basically

Dissappoining. I know Tom took it out of the Rules, but its still true what he said- It was funny once, but now its lame.

That kind of language in the Notes doesn't help either. People will hate what they hate, swearing at them will not make them like you. In the past many of my Clock friends were determined to be friendly to their critics, so I am not impressed by this tone.

That said the animation etc is OK and I've seen worse, its even slightly funny

ClockOfBlob responds:

It's not a screamer. It's steak clock. Finding you.

Yes!

I didn't know it was called autocomplete, but yeah, its kinda funny what crops up. This is an amusing collection- is it based on real autocompletes?

Funny stuff, great sounds, speech. Animation OK, does the job. Some of the layers have little white edges, where they don't cover properly, but thats common and not important.

You need to Stop and Replay and full credits within the movie- sound etc.

Do more!

Ramsimation responds:

yeha most of them are based on real autocompletes, failblog had a collection of autocomplete fails ;D

Simple but not too bad

Its short, its a loop and it has little story, meaning or personality.

However, its quality is obvious from animation and art to the quality sounds. I would have given it 1/5 but for the quality sounds, especially the sliding sound, perfectly timed. Its actualy quite an absorbing little loop, and I kept studying it, looking at background, timing etc.

squiral responds:

great inquery, :), im planning on usung this character in a movie, and i wondered it he was worth keeping, any suggestions ?

dull

I think a great little animation could be made using this idea- somehow capturing the idea of a dream inside a dream. Maybe you click on it to see the dream inside and again and again.
With music and sounds to each dream-layer it could be great, even if the art/animation was not that special the potential is there.

However, this is not remotely entertaining to watch and has nothing really to it.

Sethdd responds:

But I don't have that sorta time.

Good

Great art, OK animation. Llike that hand. Way better than just a circle for hands. I have no speakers but you had subtitles so, good!

Whilst I suppose I get the idea, its a bit of an inside joke for the rest of us. I assume this is a Clock forum. You might somehow actually explain this - a little page at the end or something, or even just in the authors notes.
If you want people to go to previous episodes first, you should have a bold bossy link at the very beginning, we are a lazy lot!

C0mBineD responds:

yeah its all inside jokes that happen on the forum and the castle is basically a visual manifestation of the forum in this series. with every forum member in it ofcourse

should really watch it with sound next time its way better.

Very Good

Very good art, animation, sound and GREAT music. Nice ideas- the whole Pumpkin Planet itself is good and you expressed the yellow creature's thoughts well. I think it a good thing to have such a very different idea for Halloween.

However, I felt the whole thing too closely resembled the chase etc between Bitey of Brackenwood and the Fatsack- Perhaps entirely a coincidence, but if you go and see it you will see what I mean. The artwork is even similar in style.

I also felt that the animation for the yellow creature looked rather crude. It could have been a more interesting creature. I think it would be good if you showed us a little more of the planet.

manuelberja responds:

thanks man. well,i don't know if it was similar to those movies. i know bitey but i don't know the other one you've mentioned. i don't know if my style is also similar to those movies. i think it's different, cuz if we talk about the material, they have what i don't.they use tablet and i use mouse. maybe the story has similar ideas, but believe me i don't know about it.i didn't copy their work.
wow man, how i love this long review. ^_^

vaguely interesting

It kinda works, though it doesn't make much sense. I assume you are just trying out things you can do. As an exercise in your abilities, I imagine you might be quite satisfied, but as something for an oursider to watch, it comes across to me as fairly pointless. I keep expecting something to happen, to follow as consequence and it doesn't.

Replay button is a Newgrounds essential and SO easy. You will want people to be encouraged to replay your work and explore it; to see the subtle things they may have missed first time, so make a big bold inviting replay button every time!

dangerteeth responds:

I was mostly just throwing things in there that were required for the assignment. I had a much more cohesive idea, but figuring out a walk cycle and using the bone tool for the first time got the better part of my time. Haven't learned the code for a replay button yet but when I do I'll be sure to include it. For now I guess F5 will have to do.
Thanks for the feedback!

Was in the Dragon & Spirit Alliance. My DS Halloween & Christmas Quizzes are in the 2006 Collections. I was the main organiser on Wikigrounds, though I don't spend much time either there or here these days. I was a writer in the Monthly Writing and VACcom
