[Pico's Confusing Book]

Fun

Its scriblly and hard to hear; its rather repetative too, but it is funny and its kind of catchy and we like songs about NG stuff so lets give it a little clap and a 3/5!

Good

+ reasonable art- I liked the rows of black faces and the boat was OK
+ quite good animation- not much of it, nothing exciting but OK.
+ Ok lip sync- not great but it was there.
+ Naration all clearly spoken and easy to hear. BUT Not too much life in the naration- sounded just rather dull reading from a book. One section towards the end has an overlap of speech that needs sorting. Some background sounds BUT Could do with more with some a bit louder sounds to add drama. Possibly some theme music going faintly too, coming up a bit in volume to add to the action, like a cinema movie.
+decent length, sort of told a story- but...

- story rather weird. Didn't make much sense to me. I think we would have to know more about the characters and the circumstances to understand much about why people did and said what they did.

-Needed more info and stuff in the movie. It may have been OK for your presentation but I think it needed adapting for NG. It needs to have what you put in the notes put into the movie with some explanation of who/where/why before it starts
-Then a better, more complete finish with full credits, such as sound etc and maybe a More Info button and links to the author and stuff .

Take no notice of 1/10 reviews etc. The presentation of it was rather uninspiring and I can therefore understand how some of the crowd out there might find it boring but its good enough and shows the ability to do yet better. I know what it takes to put together all the sound, art, animation and naration- most of what is here isnt that good but it adds up to a proper story with everything in it, so you get 6/10.
Polished up along the lines I described, it could do a lot better.

[A very DOCKY Pico Day]

Ok

I tried twice but I still couldn't hear all of it. I haven't seen any DD for many months and I thought you guys were long gone. I think I prefered the anchor to that thing which looks like a wooden pallet on the faces.
Mildly funny as far as I could make out the words.

the loopy thing went on too long. A lot of people would have X'd before the final message.

Excellant music, seemed appropriate atmosphere for the message.

Always put full credits in the movie.

Like so many crews, you guys have the basic ability, but don't use it much- Learn to have patience.

Very good sound/ voice acting

story OK as far as it goes, but too short a piece. To those of you who know something about this series or whatever it may seem OK, but to the rest of the world its just a snippet of story not a decent episode length to get into.

It needs some kind of intro to explain who/what.

Also, you need to put a hyperlink to part 2 at the end, prefereably with a sentence about what will happen, not just something in your notes.

Good work please sort it out.

Well, I can do that *now*, but of course while it was freshly uploaded I had no way of linking to something else that hadn't been uploaded yet. Now they're both out of judgement and I have the URLs, I can add them, but I'll probably wait until tomorrow when I can upload the 3rd bit. Can only upload 2 files per day.

[MGS- The action button]

Very good for 1st flash but...

Rough and crude.
you made the same mistake most people do when they make Flash about a game- however popular you think the game is, most of the world haven't played it, apart from Tetris.
I haven't played it either but I've seen it played once.
What you do is warn people in the notes first, then put in some kind of intro to explain who/what is going on.
Remember that a lot of people on NG view stuff just to vote on it. It is amazing how Tom has created such an obsession for BP points that people will view and vote on stuf fthey have no knowledge of or interest in, day after day! Anyhow, you have to cater for them to some extent, you cannot rely on only the people who are into your type of stuff.

Back to the movie. One could view it only as crude and perhaps repetative, especially if you can't figure out the idea of an Action Button. However, I view it from the perspective of one who has viewed maybe 4000 flash movies of which most first movies have been less than 1 minute long. You put in quite a lot of images, with quite a bit of action. The animation was crude but I've seen worse and it got the idea across. You put in quite a few ideas and I loved the bit where you simulated the fall down the stairs with the bumpy screen.
The sound quality is not great but voice acting is quite hard work and I want to encourage you. You can edit the rough stuff out of the sounds in Flash, by dropping the volume at various points using the sound Edit in Properties.

No, no- ignore any rude reviews. This is at least OK stuff, its a bit funny all the way through and shows you are ready to put in some work. Now go out there, improve your skills and do more. if you get stuck PM me!

yeah I know that most ppl who watch it arent gonan get it and its more of topical humour which I don t know how to get only mgs fans to watch so obviously another average score. but thanks for the advice and the positive feedback, its not common around here, so I thank you. The graphics in my flashes are going up in order of appearance and so is the effort. And im doing lots of experimenting. Thanks again bud. :)

Some of the grphics could be easily improved- such as a few windows on the blocks and blue sky fading toward the horizon with Linear.
