borderline

i did find it funny and novel. It looked OK and I nearly protected it just to show my friends.

I guess the F Off message put me off a bit, I'm pretty square, plus the Vote Five thing gets on my nerves.

Dragons & Spirits are Ock neutral and vote on Merit only

BreadFruitLock responds:

vote fiveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Good stuff

I like the details about Picard and his manner- well observed

+Nice Art/animation
+OK sound

Funny!

I liked it!

Weird images, looked like fun. Looks like a lot of families I know!

Some bits were a little slow; timing is very difficult, I mess about with frames for hours, only to change my mind the next time I look at one of my Flashes.
You certainly had a bit of length in this one. So far I have only seen your Baz and I thought I would check out your other stuff. Your sure can Flash.

flashTEK responds:

well thx

OK stuff, funny

Yes, I have just seen 4, now I watched 3. This one is somehow much funnier, in my opinion. I think it is just the ridiculous plot.

I checked the times. This one seems longer, but is about the same length as 4. I think it is the scene changes, it makes it seem like there is much more to it.

I liked the symbolic depiction of the bag going into the plane (although I know it was just a lazy tween really!)
I didn't like the uneccesary advert for Virgin Trains, I just found it grates a little, somehow. I look forward to the movie.

flashTEK responds:

lol thanks

OK

+Sound is OK, somehow just right music and OK FX
+OK graphics & animation. Flame looked quite good, better than a lot on NG.

-Not actually that funny. Perhaps you could use the device you used in Baz 2. Make his eyes blink once(white on black good contrasting moment) to emphasise that he somehow survives until the roof falls on him.

I just had an idea. Maybe at the end of each one you could put in a bit of safety info, such as a website reference appropriate to each one- just an idea- a 'professional' touch?

flashTEK responds:

lol snazzy idea

OK

I preferred this to Baz 1. It had just a little more to it.

I liked the skeleton look.

and the replay worked today!

Keep up the series. I suggest you move on to small groups of sketches. Take a look at the Hammerthrow series by Muskelchock. He clearly gets less stick now he dishes out his episodes in batches of small sketches.
Polite Point-
Just because one of us hasn't got any Flashes to our name does not disqualify us from reviewing and voting on Flashes. If that was what Tom wanted he would make it so. In fact, I suggest that our opinion is valuable in a different way, since we are not wrapped up in how it was made, but we think mostly about what it actually looks like etc.

flashTEK responds:

thank you and thanks again for your advice

OK

More effort went into all the fancy intro and stuff than the cartoon itself. It all looked great, but it was a dissappointment to just have one short sketch.

the replay button didn't work for me, I tried it twice round.

The sketch itself was OK.

The Authors Notes made me hope for more.

flashTEK responds:

the script was a bit dodgy it will be sorted out in the next sketch.

Another MEK Epic!

Well, you did it! Not only is it a pass this time, but a reasonable score.
+stacks of Interactivity
+lots of imagination and complexity
+like the new MEK intro image

-some parts go on a bit
-plenty of sounds, but the quality still sounds a bit muffled

I look forward to part 2

MEKofTheMEKkingdom responds:

I'm not sure about part 2, I'll get around to it, I'm stuck on Flash; I don't know what to do. However, here is an idea; I should send the main movie and the game to the company who made it! They would like! I am soo smart, well; it was my Nan's idea.
Hope that your submission under work is coming along great, if you think you need any guidance in sound or anything, just ask! Thanks once more for the review! I need more of them!

Looks good but...

...dissapointed me.

I can't see what makes your parody that much different to all the rest. the images were OK, but the Mishaps were not entertaining at all, they were just the normal things you do to lose lives, whereas some parodies have really funny ideas.
This certainly is NOT the one to end all Video Games parodies. The Dragon/Spirit collab. "Tetris Nightmare" will be out fairly soon.

I found the sounds irritating.

von-Brunk responds:

I knew you'd overlook the obvious joke here. Of course the "mishaps" were just minor errors that occur naturally in the game. That's the satire. It's one thing to make a cartoon with Mario being naked or Link trying to sleep with Zelda, but after so many repetive rip-offs of other movies and low-brow sex jokes, Mario/MK/Doom/Zelda mishaps tend to get a little old, don't you think?

Was in the Dragon & Spirit Alliance. My DS Halloween & Christmas Quizzes are in the 2006 Collections. I was the main organiser on Wikigrounds, though I don't spend much time either there or here these days. I was a writer in the Monthly Writing and VACcom
