I don't know what Mike meant.

They worked all right for me. It was OK. nothing exceptional, but I liked the sounds and the different styles of the guns. I was dissappointed that the Survival seemed just the same game as the normal mode, I imagined more than one enemy or something and different backgrounds in different terrain.

I have to say thay if it took so long to produce then you should have got someone else to edit the writing. In a game or tutorial you need to come across with professional style, so especially major headings etc must be right first time NOT-
"...you will can buy..." and "medicit".
It is very hard to see your own mistakes because you know what you meant to write when you wrote it and often the instructions are written in the last minute when you are anxious to submit.
The changing suits were good!

Not too bad

I don't think I really understood it. I feel this may not be the site for this experimental program or whatever it was but I gave you the benefit of the doubt, just.

If you want to come across as a serious gamesmaker etc. as I think you do, then you need to get your games proofread before submission, the spelling was awful.

Better without the sound!

Carmen is tasty, but the picture was too small. Black Clock's version is better because it doesn't have the hideous noise. At least give it a sound off button.

I might use this

I haven't seen many tutorials, but this is one of the better ones. I read Kano's review and your reply. I think you both have a point. It is true that to inspire confidence you have to show Flash ability beyond that which you are teaching; however I think you may be right to keep the background simple.
Sound, though, would be a good way of showing ability. Especially since you taught us to do it, you needed sounds as well as the music-bleeps on the buttons etc. I thought the music was OK, but perhaps it needed to change in different parts of the tutorial or something.

Get someone with good writing skills to proof-read your tutorial. remember that in a tutorial, you are a teacher, not a text-talk dude, so it must be perfect grammer and spelling- Having said that it WAS better than most Flash writing. I think Flash should always be written with a capital.
Thank you for this tutorial, I really will give it a go.

thanks, i like how the new people like this. This is a tutorial for beginners only! thank you, so when you were talking about my writing... were there any mistakes?

So So

Nothing special, but OK.

I am sure there are oodles of games on Flash like this.

I did like the varied alpha on the clouds making the two red objects more difficult to see.

It could have had more to it, such as movement in the flame things, other levels and a bit of an entertaining intro.

Good

Liked the game, played it a few times. Not an exceptional game, although it was interesting to play a game that actually got EASIER as I went along and became bigger than the surrounding fish- that was a first!

Good graphics. I liked the background stuff although I did not realise for a while that all the fish that were not red were harmless background objects. I thought the Spongebob was funny.

Music dull, lack of other sounds.

I think it would be better if Gilligan could only eat fish by facing them; then putting in a moment of eating animation would look good-along with some kind of sound. That kind of thing is what would put this into the next level of quality.

Good Copy

I didn't actually vote on this because I can't get mine to work. No matter what I do it just keeps on showing demo games and the old routines.

I gave it about the highest score (here) I could for something with no originality- as a reviewer said on the last A. In. flash I saw. How mnay A.In. flashes do we need?

It brings back good memories, though.

technically good

I liked the scores rising up from it

Sorry, there is nothing basically wrong with it, but it is so like the very common game Clickmania I couldn't pass it.

If you set a time limit and subtracted score every time the player clicked on a single block, you would have a new dimension.
You could add a little humour too, with images like skull and crossed bones in the single blocks when you click on them.

USING SOUNG?!

This is everything it is supposed to be, as far as I know. I am no expert at Flash, so I caanot judge the material too well, but I will get my colleague MEK to do that. It is very proffesional and, I hope, will be very helpful. It has everything it should have- without taking too long for us non-broadband folk to load. Thank you and well done.

OK stuff

Neat little game. Very seasonal. Liked the idea and the music.
Shame about the spelling. "One of these..." Not "On of this"

Its all there with a preloader, replay, proper instructions.
Thank you

Was in the Dragon & Spirit Alliance. My DS Halloween & Christmas Quizzes are in the 2006 Collections. I am the main organiser on Wikigrounds, though I don't spend much time either there or here these days. I am a writer in the Monthly Writing and VACcomps
